Within three days after each class, you should e-mail the instructor a brief note summing up what you learned from the readings and/or class sessions.  In this note, please include any questions or concerns you have about the topics or materials we are considering.

Your weekly e-mail should be directed to atlantadeacons@gmail.com.  You can also use this address to contact the instructor about any other matters that arise.  (If the phone is a handier option, the contact number is 770 631-0060.)

The three assigned papers should bring together your understanding of our readings and discussions (to that point) on three of the major issues arising out of Catholic social teaching:

·         Paper #1 – The role of the institutional Church in a pluralistic secular society;

·         Paper #2 – Strengthening family life to foster a more just social order; and

·         Paper #3 – Increasing social awareness and practical action on the parish level.

These are not research assignments; they require only your thoughtful reflection on the materials presented in the course.  Each paper should be at least three typed (double-spaced) pages in length.
